Charles, Jr. Bickings

Charles Garmon Bickings, Jr., 86, of Hopewell died Friday, March 23, 2007 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Disputanta and had been a lifetime resident of this area. Mr. Bickings was a U.S. Army veteran in World War II. He was a member of the Prince George Ruritan Club, Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and was a retired maintenance supervisor from Hercules, Inc with 42 years service. Mr. Bickings was the son of the late Charles G. and Sarah Birchett Bickings and the widower of Lucille Wyatt Bickings. He is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Stewart and her husband Frank of Fredericksburg, Kay Bickings of Hopewell, one son, Dennis Bickings of Hopewell, two grandsons, Jason Bickings of LaCrescenta, CA and Charles Stewart of Caroline County, VA, two sisters, Sarah Cogle of Prince George, Margaret Creasy of Disputanta, one brother, Howard Bickings and his wife Essie of Ettrick and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Monday, March 26, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Bellis, Jr., pastor of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
