Charles “Buck” Sedden Latham III, 84, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Charles Latham II and Margaret Newby Kerr. He was also preceded in death by his son, James “Chris” Latham; grandson, Ryan Coffey; brother, William “Billy” Latham; and son-in-law, Timothy Sturgill. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Buck had a career as a Master Plumber, retiring after many years. He was a faithful member of The River Church in Chester. A Minister for Christ, he was a much loved and active member of his church family. Buck loved to take photographs, collect unique items and watch westerns. He was a people person, making a friend wherever he went. He never met a stranger and with his vibrant sense of humor, joked that he was known by everyone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Callie Parsons Latham; children: Larry Creech (Jacquelyn), Carol Snyder (Bobby), Charles Latham IV (Kathi) and Denise Sturgill; grandchildren: Chad Creech, Rachel Hamer, Derek Coffey, Lauren Troup, Sheppard Latham, Ivory Latham, Olinda Latham, Meredith Latham, Katarina Aseron, and Wyatt Sturgill; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred “Ann” Atkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 at The River Church, 2206 E Hundred Rd. Chester. Due to Covid restrictions this will be an outside service. Seating will not be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring their own chairs and dress will be casual. Condolences may be registered at
