Charles Edward “Slick” Lewis, 81, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. Lewis, Sr. and Margaret Gibbs Lewis; and infant siblings, Walter Lewis and Margaret Lewis. Slick had a passion for restoring antique cars. He loved his family and enjoyed getting everyone together. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mentha Lewis; son, John Wayne Lewis (Debbie); grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Lewis (Felicia), and Melissa Harris; great-grandchildren, Kierston Beckman, Madison Lewis, Hunter Harris, Chase Harris, and Declan Lewis; brother, Joseph F. “Joe” Lewis, Jr.; his dog, special companion, Baby; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at his brother’s house (Joe Lewis), 13801 Courthouse Rd. Dinwiddie, VA 23841 from Saturday November 19, 2016 to Monday November 21, 2016 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
