Charles Lucy

Charles Edward Lucy, Sr. 79, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Dinwiddie and son of the late Edward T. and Pearl Hawkins Lucy. He retired from VDOT in 1991 after 42 years of service. Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary N. Lucy; five children, Charles E. Lucy, Jr. and wife, Cathy, Richard L. Lucy, Sr. and wife, Anna, Bonnie L. Foster and husband, Reid, Connie L. Heemer and husband, Walter, Darrell L. Lucy and wife, Mary; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil Lucy and wife, Loretta, Lawrence Lucy, Sr. and wife, Betty, Marvin T. Lucy and wife, Mary; one sister, Alice Westfall and husband, Stanley; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park.
