Charles Paul Minor, III, 76, died on February 8, 2023 after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's. Charles, "Charlie" to his friends, was born in Hopewell, Virginia. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving as a Captain in the Marine Corps. Charles earned a B.A. from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. from Texas Tech University. He enjoyed history, genealogy, theology, and coin collecting. Charles is remembered for his warm welcome, scholarly pursuits, sense of humor, and abiding faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Paul Minor, Jr. and Katheryn Land Minor; as well as his sister Priscilla Minor Bjornes. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Scherer (David); his son, Charles Paul Minor, IV (Randi); grandchildren, Charles Paul Minor, V, and Sophia Alexis Minor; his sisters, Joy Willig (Richard), and Faye Buren (Rob); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 11:30am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 505 Cedar Ln, Hopewell, VA 23860.
