Charles Douglas Minter

Charles Douglas Minter, 68, of Hopewell passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. Born May 14, 1952, he was the son of the late Garnett Henley and Adelaide Ackerman Minter, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Russell Allen Minter. He worked as a boiler house operator for Brown and Williamson for about 20 years. A Camaro enthusiast, Charles loved working on his cars. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and playing poker, but most of all, he cherished his time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Wanda Norwood Minter; three daughters, Audra Lynn Minter, Nichole Elizabeth Minter, Bridgette Leigh Minter; three grandchildren, Cameron Minter, Damien Rose, Brielle Starks; sister, Carol Ann Minter; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Homes, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will be private.
