Charles Joseph Palumbo Iii

Charles "Sonny" Joseph Palumbo III, 81, passed away March 12, 2023. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of late Charles Joseph Palumbo, Jr., and Helen Fidler Palumbo. He will be remembered by his daughters, Cheri (Kathy) and Donna (Keith); grandchildren, Carla, Brandon, Eric, Makenzie, and Landon; and his sister, Diane. Sonny dedicated himself to his country and community that started with his military career where he became a skilled marksman. His time volunteering at Manchester Ambulance was something he enjoyed. To no surprise Sonny chose and dedicated himself to his community, the VCU police department where he started as a detective and later went on to retire as Captain. After retirement he went on to work for Chesterfield County Sheriff's Department assisting with finger printing. NASCAR season was a highlight for Sonny where he would cheer on Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed being in a room full of family and will be missed dearly. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Rd.
