Charles Wayne Piner, Sr. 69, of Prince George, died July 17, 2010 in Retreat Hospital, Richmond. He was born in Hopewell, a retired field machinist at Honeywell and a member of the Hopewell Church of the Brethren. Mr Piner was preceded in death by his parents, Monnie H. and Gatsie Hardy Piner and a brother, Bobby G. Piner. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Nichols Piner of Prince George , a daughter, Teresa P. Wells and husband, Willie Earl, III of Carson, a son, Charles Wayne â??Chuckâ? Piner, Jr. of Prince George, four grandchildren, Wade Wells, Britney Wells, Jacob Wayne Piner and Richard Minor, two brothers, Monnie H. Piner, Jr. of Prince George and Gary F. Piner of Hopewell, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening, July 19, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss& Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 2 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Pennington, pastor of the Hopewell Church of the Brethren, assisted by Rev. Ron Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County.
