Charles Earl Slaughter

Charles Earl Slaughter, 69, of Dewitt, VA passed away on April 11, 2015. Born in Dewitt, he was the son of the late John and Mary Virginia Fitts Slaughter; and was also preceded in death by seven brother and sisters. Charles retired from Honeywell in 2011 as a chemical operator after 25 years of service, and was a member of Rocky Run United Methodist Church in Dewitt. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice M. Slaughter; two sons, Christopher James Slaughter and wife, Dana and Billy Joe Slaughter and wife, Dana; four grandchildren, Trevor James Slaughter, Taylor Marie Slaughter, Alyson Kay Slaughter and Tiffany Grace Slaughter; two sisters, Helen Martin and husband, Earl, and Jean Hinson and husband, Earl; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Rd., N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803, with the Rev. Karen Workman, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rocky Run United Methodist Church.
