Charles Russell Stephens Sr.

Charles Russell (Russ) Stephens, Sr. passed away on October 26, 2014. He was born in Charlotte, N.C. to the late Helen Lutes Magers and Raphael Weller Stephens, II. He grew up in Hopewell but has spent the majority of his adult life in the Richmond area. Russ is also predeceased by his niece, Heather Denise Henry. Russ is survived by his son, Charles Russell Stephens, Jr. (C.R.); a brother, Fr. Seraphim Stephens and his wife, Anita of Virginia Beach; and a sister, Susan Stephens Henry and her husband, Kent of Penhook, Virginia. He is also survived by nieces, Dominica Stephens Taylor of Fr. Mill, S.C., Renee Stephens Torgler of Virginia Beach, Danielle Stephens Wilfong of Frederick, Md., Gabrielle Stephens Brewer of Virginia Beach; a nephew, Jason Kent Henry of Charlotte, N.C.; and eleven grand nieces and nephews. Russ is a lifelong member of the International Association of Iron Workers Local #28; and a past employee of McGuireWoods and Battle & Booth Associates of Richmond. A prayer service and viewing is planned for Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Seraphim officiating, followed by interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
