Charles David Story, Jr., 85, of Prince George County went to be with his Lord on November 15, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born to the late Charles David Story, Sr. and Nettie Fowler Skinner, Charles was also preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Piotrowski and Bernice Minor. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a former employee of Hercules Powder Company and Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He served as Building Inspector for Prince George County and Hopewell, Virginia. Prior to operating his own business, SASCO, with his son, Charles served on the Board of Equalization in Prince George. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Hopewell, the Masonic Lodge # 115 in Prince George, the Petersburg Old Geezer’s Organization, and Marl Hill Hunt Club in Prince George. He served on the membership committee for Prince George Electric and loved hunting, football, and NASCAR races. He served 57 years as a Prince George County volunteer fireman in Company 1, serving as Chief and various offices throughout the years. His greatest enjoyment was being surrounded by family including his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his church family at Liberty Baptist Church, Hopewell, Virginia, and its Pastor, Phil Andrews. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 65 years, Nancy Ezell Story; his daughter, Margaret Lee Story Crowder (Robbie); and his son, Charles David Story, III (Nancy); sisters, Marie Bowe and Marilyn Swann (Carlisle); grandchildren, Ericka Berry (Chris), Jonathan Talley (Jennifer), Charles Story, IV (Carly), Laura Crowder (fiancé, Ben Diller), and Michael Story; his great-grandchildren, Carlee, Olivia, Charlie, Matthew, Rylee and Faraday; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1:00 P.M., in the chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son in Petersburg, VA, followed by interment at Blandford Cemetery.
