Charles Ronald Woodward

Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Woodward, 78, of Chester, VA, passed away at home late afternoon on May 21, 2021. He fought a hard battle with multiple health issues for many years, but he never gave up! He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy Frye Woodward, and his children Teresa (Dean) and Chris (Julie). He was also “Poppie” to 3 grandchildren: Samantha Smith (fiancé Cody Danford), Christopher Woodward (Hayley Porter) and Tori Woodward; all of whom he loved fiercely.
Ronnie was born May 9, 1943 in Saltville, VA to the late Ewell and Ruth Woodward. He is survived by his siblings: Patsy Smith (Robert); Gary (Brenda); and Judy Black (Earl); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie retired from ICI Americas, and he was a proud Army veteran. Ronnie loved and lived life to the fullest. He especially enjoyed working in his yard, sitting on the porch with Nancy, spending time with his children and grandchildren, regular phone calls with his siblings, and listening to gospel music. He leaves a huge hole in their hearts and lives, but they are comforted to know that he is now with his precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that they will one day be reunited.
The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. They plan a private celebration of Ronnie’s wonderful life in the coming months.
