Charlie Parham

Mr. Charlie Parham, AKA “Ball In The Hand,” of 1117 Beazley Street, Petersburg, VA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 22, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on April 27, 1932 in Chesterfield County to the late Bert Sr. and Fannie Parham. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thad B. Parham; siblings, Bert Parham, Jr., Sue P. Jones, Lucy P. Wood, James Parham, Lee Roy Parham, Elizabeth P. Williams, Fannie P. Hamilton, and Nannie P. Bonner. He retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company after many years of dedicated service, following which he was also a dedicated employee of J.T. Morriss & Son, Inc. until his health began to decline. Charlie enjoyed his family friends, and he enjoyed life to the fullest. On December 26, 1959, he was united in marriage to Thad E. Brooks, and from this union he became the proud father of four children, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Charlie is survived by his devoted children, Kathy Parham Robinson (Alexander) of Fort Washington, MD, Clinton Parham of Petersburg, VA, Judy Parham Tucker (Rodney) of Petersburg, VA, and Pamela Parham of Chesterfield, VA; grandchildren, Lamont of Richmond, VA, De’Andre’ and De’Monte’ of Petersburg, VA, Alexis’ of Fort Washington, MD, and Kyle of Chesterfield. He is also survived by his siblings, Mattie P. Bell of Petersburg, VA, Edward Parham (Gloria) of Joliet, IL, and Samuel Parham (Frances) of St. Petersburg, FL; brother-in-law, Raymond Hamilton of Petersburg, VA; sisters-in-law, Catherine Parham of Ford, VA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Robert A. Diggs officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
