Charlie Puryear Sturgille

February 7, 1919 — December 14, 2012

Charlie Puryear Sturgille, 93, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Elizabeth Puryear; two husbands, George Herndon and Kenneth Sturgille; brothers, Harold Puryear and Clinton Puryear; sisters, Gladys Sharpe, Eleanor Wingo, Mary Lee Puryear, and Lila Wilkerson. She was a former member of New Hope Baptist and of Elm Street Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Greene and husband, Gene and June Zapach and husband, Dan; four grandchildren, Justin Greene and wife, Ashley, Rebecca Zapach, Ashley Zapach, and Kathryn Zapach; one great-grandchild, Logan Greene; Sister, Elsie Trickett; special friends and caregivers, Brenda Stech and Amy Bennett. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 235 W. Washington Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.
