Charlotte Tennant Bodenhamer

Charlotte Tennant Bodenhamer, 70, of N. Chesterfield, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late William Blair Tennant and Betty Stratton Tennant. Mrs. Bodenhamer was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John T. Bodenhamer, Sr.; and her sister, Martha K. Newsome.
She is survived by her children, John T. Bodenhamer, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, William R. Bodenhamer, Sr. and his wife, Robyn, and Donald B. Bodenhamer and his wife, Trislyn. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kristen Delacy (Scott Dennis), Samantha Allen, Will Ivey (Karla Ivey), Caitlyn Bodenhamer (Shianne Hayes), Cassy Bodenhamer (Austin Goodwin), Cece Ivey (Nick Carpenter), Will Bodenhamer, Jr., Johnny Bodenhamer III (Skylynn Moore), Lexi Bodenhamer, Cole Greenwell, Kaley Bodenhamer, Addy Bodenhamer, Austyn Bodenhamer, and Bryan Bodenhamer, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Hayden Goodwin, Dawsyn Hayes, and Harper Goodwin.
Charlotte is also survived by her best friend of 53 years, Norma Worsham; her brother, Richard Tennant, and his wife, Judy Tennant; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
She had a fondness for being a mom and matriarch to the family, especially her sons and grandchildren, of whom she was extremely proud. She loved her pets, particularly her collies over the years, holding a special place in her heart for Foxy and Duke. Charlotte was a straight shooter and cherished family gatherings more than anything.
Rest in peace, Mom. You did a great job with all of us, and we will always love you.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences can be registered online at www.jtmorriss.com .
