Charlotte Houser

Charlotte Moody Houser, of Prince George, 86, died Thursday August 11, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur J. and Emily L. Moody, husband Donald S. Houser, and a daughter, Mary Link, and sister Genevieve M. Mayes. Charlotte graduated from both Petersburg High School in 1942 and Petersburg School of Nursing in 1945; was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church; with the love she had for animals, Charlotte was a member and treasurer of the SPCA of Petersburg for 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Stecker and husband, David of North Kingstown, RI; Donna L. Lay of Rochester, NY; six grandchildren, John Williams of Champlain, IL, Shannon May of North Borough, MA, Kristine Lay of Rochester, NY., David C. Stecker of Syracuse, NY, Mike Lay and Christine Lay; five great-grandchildren; three nephews, Larry Owens of Petersburg, Buddy Ford of New Kent and Jerry Ford of Disputanta. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday August 15, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service, interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
