Christian Giovanni Gotay-Rivera

Christian Giovanni Gotay-Rivera, 40, of Colonial Heights, VA, tragically passed away on May 29, 2024. Christian was born in Puerto Rico and resided in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Mr. Gotay-Rivera graduated from Hopewell High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Christian's passions included riding his motorcycle, beach days, outdoor adventures, and making memories with those he loved. He was a great conversationalist who could talk for hours about anything. He was a great friend and was always willing to offer a helping hand. Best of all, he always had his best bud, Nico, by his side.
His mother, Marinilda Rivera-Rodriguez, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are his father, Robert Gotay-Rocher, of Hopewell, VA; his brother, Christopher Andres Gotay-Rivera, of Phoenix, AZ; his stepmother, Elizabeth Gotay; his sister, Mallory Isabella Davis, both of Hopewell, VA; his girlfriend, Melissa Lynn Mertz, and bonus daughter, Maci Carter, of Colonial Heights, VA. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
