Christina Bates Perkins

Christina Bates Perkins, age 94 of Colonial Heights, Virginia, formerly of Sherburne, New York died August 28, 2017. Christina was preceded in death by her grandparents George and Martha Bates, who raised her from age 3 to 18, her parents George and Hazel Bates, along with siblings Henry Bates, George (Donald) Bates, Elizabeth (Betty) Bates, Evelyn (Peg) Graves and Wilma Gray. Surviving are her sons, Richard Perkins and wife Pam of Buffalo, NY and Ronald Perkins and wife Aleta of Colonial Heights VA; granddaughters, Emily Perkins, Lorenda Faison; and grandsons, Aaron Durkee, Grahame Perkins and Thomas Tucker; along with great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving sibling is Harold Bates and wife Evelyn and sister-in-law Helen Bates. Christina retired on January 6, 1986 after 27 years from the Sherburne-Earlville school system. All services will be private. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
