Christine Hotz

Christine Reiter Hotz, 90, of Petersburg, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2006. Born in Dinwiddie County, she was the last survivor of seven children born to Frank Louis and Frances Blaha Reiter. She was the loving wife of 67 years to Rudolph Louis Hotz, who together, built their home a very short distance from her birthplace. Mrs. Hotz retired from Petersburg General Hospital after fifteen years as Secretary in the medical records department. She was an avid gardener and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering her time with church and school activities. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Patricia H. Kolakoski of Springfield, VA and Mary Frances H. Redding of Alexandria, VA; sons, William Louis Hotz of Marietta, GA and Rudolph David Hotz of LaGrange, KY; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. A Christian Wake will be held at 7 PM Sunday, May 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by family visitation. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 AM Monday at the church by Father Robert M. Spencer. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Petersburg.
