Clarence Douglas Burt

C. Douglas Burt, 80, of Hopewell, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 with family at his side following a short and sudden battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Grubb Burt; his parents, John Edward Burt IV and Mary Harrison Burt; and five brothers. He is survived by his son, Douglas A. Burt; sister, Evelyn B. Trice; step-daughter, Kelly C. Woods; step-son, R. Scott Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. Doug was a member of the American Legion Post #146, VFW and Moose Lodge #1472 and retired from Allied Signal. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2016. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George.
