Clarence Edward “Sonny” Mabe, 69, of Chesterfield, VA died Saturday, October 9, 2004, in St. Marys Hospital. He was a native of Saltville, VA and the son of the late Lester and Lillian Six Mabe, and also was predeceased by two brothers, Garnett Lee Mabe and Raymond A. Mabe. Mr. Mabe served in the United States Army, was an elder and trustee of Rosewood Presbyterian Church of Prince George, VA and was retired from Hercules of Hopewell, VA He is survived by his wife, Beatrice L. Mabe; sisters, Vaydon Hayes and husband Cales, Chesterfield, VA, Ruth Odelene hale and husband Curtis, Bristol, VA, Geraldine Strunk and husband, Bob, Jasper, FL; half-brothers, Donald Mabe, Max Meadows, VA, David Mabe, Russell County, VA; step-brothers, Leonard Parrot, Pulaski, VA, Jimmy Parrot, Heath, OH; step-daughters, Tina L. Aldridge and husband, Lee, Colonial Heights, VA, Barbara Trevillian, Prince George, VA; step-son, LeRoy “Butch” Tench, Richmond, VA; step-grandchildren, Preston “Lee” Aldridge, IV, Franklin “Dale” Aldridge, David “Mickey” Baxter, Joni C. Williams, Tony Williams; step-great grandchildren, Corey Williams. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, October 11th from 7 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
