Clarence Elbert Mitchell, Jr.

Clarence E. Mitchell, Jr., 83, of New Symrna Beach, FL, passed away on October 18, 2022. Mitch was born & raised in Hopewell, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. Mitchell Sr. and Beulah Riggan Mitchell and his brother, Michael R. Mitchell.
Mitch graduated from VPI - Virgina Tech, Blacksburg, VA, while co-opting with NASA. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, beginning his 35 year career as an aerospace engineer with Boeing. He was honored for contributions to NASA projects on several monuments at the Walk of Fame at Cape Kennedy Space Center in Florida. He is survived by his sister, Brenda D. Mitchell of Hopewell VA; daughter, Mary Heather Mitchell of E. Freetown, MA; and many cousins and friends. Many thanks to Doug & Pat Bradshaw, Carl Fielder and Chico Chavez, for assisting the family during Mitch's long battle with Alzheimers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 12-1 P.M. at J.T. Morriss & Son - Hopewell, 820 W. Broadway Avenue, where a funeral service will take place in the chapel at 1 P.M.
