Claudette Rae Race

Claudette Rae Race, 85, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023. Born in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sarah Hall Barnes. Mrs. Race was a life long member of Life Church in Hopewell, (formerly Faith Tabernacle) where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Race is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Teddy Race; two children, Lou Ann Osborn and husband, Frank and Jeff Race and wife, Jenny; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clidene Staten and Mary Lacy; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Life Church - Hopewell, 112 S. 12th Avenue, Hopewell, VA 23860, from 10:00 - 11:00 am, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
