Cleon Deaner Jr.

Ira Cleon Deaner, Jr., 76, of Midlothian, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Cleon Deaner, Sr. and Elsie Deaner Finlayson. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy Jolly Deaner; two sons, Brent Deaner (Mary) and Barry Deaner ; two daughters, Kimberly Deaner Trachtenberg and Rebecca Deaner Rose (Scott); nine grandchildren, Melissa Deaner Secrist (Kevin), Joshua Deaner, Kaitlyn Deaner, Nathan Deaner, Julia Trachtenberg, Sarah Margaret Trachtenberg, Alex Rose, Thomas Rose, and William Rose; and brother, Dennis Deaner (Cathy). Cleon was born in Hopewell, VA. He attended The University of Virginia, supported UVa in all sports, and was a life-time member of The UVa Alumni Association. He worked for Allied/Honeywell for 35 years as the Manager of Human Resources. He had a cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he loved the beach and enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Cleon loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd., Chesterfield, VA. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
