Clyde Franklin Carraway, 86, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Hobson and Maggie Wray Carraway; brothers, James, Irvin, and Albert; sister, Lucille; and granddaughter, Jenna C. Winn. Clyde was a lifelong farmer and a lifelong member of Concord United Methodist Church. He loved his family, church and community. He cared about other people and believed in helping your neighbor. Clyde spent many hours playing ball, enjoying and encouraging young people. He especially loved to watch his grandson and granddaughter play ball. Clyde is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith C. Carraway; daughters, Kay Winn and husband, Mike, Jennie Perkins and husband, Bobby, and Joni Arnott and husband, Alan; grandsons, Alston Winn and Taylor Perkins; granddaughters, Carra Winn Lane and Sydney Perkins; a great-grandson, Winn Lane. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with The Reverend Nathan Decker officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
