Colonel (RET) William E. Dyson, passed away August 28, 2006 at Southside Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born November 30, 1930 the son of the late Daniel Dyson and Nina Hill Dyson. On September 15, 1955 he married Frances Nanette Ramsey who predeceased him after a long and happy marriage. She is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Colonel Dyson was also predeceased by his brother, Daniel Dyson, Jr. He is survived by a number of first cousins with whom he had a particularly close relationship. Colonel Dyson was a graduate of Dinwiddie High School and Virginia Tech where he attained a number of honors. He made the Army his career and served for a period of twenty-eight years. He served actively in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars and received a number of citations for outstanding service. He was a member of Prospect Christian Church in Dinwiddie County. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 11 am on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, beside his lovely wife, Nanette. Condolences may be registered at
