Col. J. (Ret) Frame

Col. Golden J. Frame (Ret), of Chesterfield died Friday, January 6, 2012 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gloria S. Hoke of Petersburg. He was the son of Edgar O. and Hazel M. Frame of Charleston, West Virginia where he was born, raised, educated and employed. Col. Frame entered the U.S. Army in 1943 and retired in 1969, he served throughout the Pacific Islands, New Guinea, Indonesia, Philippines, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. He also served in BASEC Hgds, France, and 7th Army Hgds., Sturtgart Germany. Statewide assignments were Forts Lee, Picket, Eustis, Camp Ellis and Washington, DC. Col. Frame attended several military, defense, and civilian schools and was awarded many decorations and awards including the Philippine Legion of Honor.
