Constance Olsen

Constance Mayes Olsen, 87, of Hopewell, VA, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 in Pompton Plains, NJ. She was born in Petersburg, VA. Mrs. Olsen was preceded in death by her parents, Portress Gresham Mayes and Pearl Anderson Mayes, her husbands, Leif Olsen and Charles Brough, a brother, Portress G. Mayes, Jr. and a sister, Martha Eleanor Daughtry. She is survived by her step-son Lawrence Olsen and wife, Cindy, and step-daughter Laura Hanisch and husband, Kurt, and grandsons, Steven and Leif Hanisch, one brother, Jack A. Mayes and several nieces and nephews. Connie was retired from the former Allied Chemical Corp. and she and Leif spent their retirement years in the shared love of traveling the world over. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, Prince George County. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at the church with the Rev. Gina Anderson-Cloud, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Sycamore United Methodist Church Building Fund at 9710 Old Stage Road, Prince George, VA 23875.
