Cora Louise Hixson was born May 5,2021 at 23 weeks and 2 days. She was 1lb 3 ounces of feisty fire and personality. Given the nickname flamingo for her long legs and pink skin, Cora brought hope, love, and perspective into so may lives.
She amazed everybody she met. She quickly became a favorite of many people in the NICU. Cora’s mom and dad were and always will be proud of their sweet girl that they shared her story, allowing it to touch thousands of people around the world.
She may have had a short time on this earth, but she showed her parents a lifetime of love. We didn’t lose Cora, we gained 3 and a half beautiful weeks with her. Every effort was made to keep her in this world, but sadly she passed in her mom’s arms early in the morning on May 30. It was worth every tear to know her and witness her miraculous life. Our sweet flamingo will live on in our hearts forever.
