Corey Douglas Orndorff

Corey “Possum” Orndorff, age 37, of Hopewell, VA, passed away December 30, 2018. He was employed by the City of Hopewell. Corey was a proud member of the American Legion Riders and Sons of the American Legion Post 146. He was also a member of the VFW Post 637 Auxiliary. It was Corey’s wish to be an organ donor. We are proud to say he continues to live on in others. Corey is survived by his adoring wife, Andi; mother, Rebecca Orndorff of Michigan; father, Douglas Orndorff of Florida; twin sister, Amanda Hood of Georgia; brothers, Scott Atkinson of Michigan and Chris Atkinson of Virginia; father-in-law, Terry Hertz and mother-in-law, Sharon Hertz of Virginia; sister-in-law, Shannon Wood of Virginia; and nephews, Aydan Wood and Blaine Wood of Virginia. A celebration of Corey’s life will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2901 Norfolk Street, Hopewell, VA 23860. The family requests that those attending come comfortable and casual to honor Corey’s wishes.
