Cornelius G. â??Neilâ? Alloway, 81, of Jordan on the James in Prince George County, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. A graduate of William & Mary and a retired engineer from DuPont, Neil served two tours of duty in the U.S. Marine Corps aboard the USS Gen. W. A. Mann, also served during the Korean War at Camp Lejeune, NC. He was a 38 year member of St. Johns Masonic Lodge and Pyramid Shrine Temple in Connecticut and was a life member of the Shrine Childrenâ??s Hospitals. Neil is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Kathrien â??Kayâ? Bowen Alloway, a niece, Florence Waters, nephew Clifford Waters both of Philadelphia, PA, a devoted special caregiver, Maebell Claiborne, and a former caregiver, Irene Silver. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 12:00 to 1:00PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Westhampton Memorial Park, Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, c/o Lois Allen, 14447 Brink Road, Emporia, Virginia 23847 or the American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., Parkinson Plaza, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
