Courtney “Corky” Taylor Bernard, 55, of Nunnelly, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Horizon Medical Center, Dickson, Tennessee. He was the son of Ramona Vest Bernard and the late Jessie “Jack” W. Bernard and was a former employee of B & H Distributing Company, Inc. Corkie served in the U. S. Marine Air Wing for nine years, part of which was spent in Vietnam. At the time of his death, he was an employee of Blue Ribbon Foods, Inc. of Northcross, Georgia. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Gallup Bernard of the home;two sons, Jason Jessie Bernard (Helen) of Chesterfield and Cameron Chadwick Bernard (Leigh) of Richmond; three granddaughters, Mackenzie Bernard of Chesterfield, Taylor and Sydney Bernard of Richmond; sister, Ramona B.(Candy) Hall of Colonial Heights, two nieces and an aunt, Doris B. Gill of Richmond. A memorial service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004 with the Rev. Robert Livesay officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
