Cynthia Gay Sanford

Cynthia G. Sanford “Cindy” passed away on November 12, 2021, at the age of 61. She was born May 17, 1960, in Miami, Florida and raised in Colonial Heights, VA. Cindy was a graduate of Colonial Heights High School, Class of 1978, and received her Associates degree from John Tyler Community College in Chester, VA. Professionally, Cindy served as an executive administrative assistant in IT departments for several companies in the Richmond Tri-City area. Cindy was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, and mother. Her greatest sense of pride and joy was her daughter, Amanda. Cindy was preceded in death by both her mother, Delores G. Lamantia, and her father, Harold F. Sanford. Cindy is survived by her dad, Joseph J. Lamantia and wife Joyce; daughter, Amanda A. Sanford; two brothers, Harold F. Sanford, Jr. “Chip”, Vincent J. Lamantia “Vince” and wife, Cathy and one sister, Connie L. Hill and husband, Jeff. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jessica L. Dodson and husband Sam (Parker), Chandler A. Hill, Joseph “McKoy” Lamantia, Kyle V. Lamantia, Joseph “Joey” A. Sanford, Concetta G. Hill, and Luke A. Lamantia. Cindy was a fun-loving person with a sweet soul who cherished her extended family, many dear friends, and her furry four-legged companion, Sophie. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021, in the Petersburg chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021.
