Daimon Dwight Young, 19 months, was taken home in the arms of the angels on Friday, June 15, 2007 at University of Virginia Childrenâ??s Hospital, Charlottesville, VA., where he was awaiting a heart transplant. He was the son of Hazel St. Peter and Harry Dwight Young, Jr.
Daimon struggled hard to live with a congenital heart disease from birth, and he endured two major surgeries in his short life. Despite these trials, he was a happy and loving child who was loved and supported by his family each day of his life.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a large and loving extended family of grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Maternal grandmother, Lori Jean Grove; maternal grandfather, Frank Albert St. Peter; paternal grandfather, Harry Dwight Young, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Lisa Louise Young; maternal great-grandmother, Rosemary Rose; paternal great-grandmother, Faye Etta Young; paternal great-grandfather, Rawles Edward Bryant; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Lancaster; and paternal great-grandfather, Harold Lloyd McCoury.
A Celebration of Daimonâ??s life will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Surry, with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Union Congregational Christian Church Cemetery, Dendron. The family asked that memorial donations be made to the family or the funeral home. The Purviance Chapel of J. T.
