Dalison Ervin Harris Sr.

Dalison Ervin Harris, Sr., 89, of Claremont, VA passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Harris; and his wives, Juanita E. Harris and Frances M. Harris; He is survived by his daughter, Denise Hairr (Larry); sons, D.E. Harris, Jr., Charles T. Harris (Gail), Michael E. Harris (Maureen), Mark W. Harris (Mary), Daniel L. Harris (Lee Anne); a sister, Lila Croom; step-sons, Roy Spain and Lindsey Spain; step-daughters, Elva Miller (Mike), Linda Seymore (J.C.), Carol Hazlett (Marty); adopted daughter, Margarete Ketcham (Ralph); numerous extended family and friends. Dalison was a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII; he was also a member of Lodge # 177 AF&AM Claremont, VA. Mr. Harris was a very active member of Claremont United Methodist Church where he was recently recognized for outstanding service to his church and community. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
