Dan Freeman Pulley, 88, of Prince George, VA, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. Born in Halifax, NC, and raised in Warren County, NC, he was the son of the late Leonard Pulley and Lizzy King Pulley. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma Barnes Pulley; siblings, Luke Pulley, Alice Gale, Frances Griffin, Mammie Glover, Sam Pulley, and Rachael Claiborne.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl F. Winstead (Ronald); sons, Garland Page Pulley (Cheryl) and Dan F. Pulley, Jr; grandsons, Kurt Austin Pulley, Dustyn Edward Winstead (Laci), Tyler James Winstead, Steven Tanner Winstead, Travis Page Winstead, Brandon Alonzo, and Stephen Main (Cierra).
Dan was employed with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co., retiring after many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking for his family by preparing stews outside and hosting fish frys. Dan was a long standing, honorary member of Rowanta Hunt Club. He will be dearly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Rowanta Hunt Club, 26720 Carson Rd., Carson, VA 23830. In lieu of flowers, please bring a covered dish to the celebration of life service. Condolences may be registered at
