Dane Scott Young, 59, of Sutherland, VA, died Saturday, December 23, 2017. Scott was the former owner of Bottom Billiards in Richmond, and was currently self-employed as the owner of Sutherland Home Buyers. He was a devoted husband and father, and a man of strong faith. His family was his entire world, and being a good father was his top priority. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Welsh Young; children, Christopher Young, Grace Young, and Margaret Young; parents, William “Bill” and Phyllis Payton Young; siblings, Craig Young (Shannon), Kim Harvanek (Scotty), and Rodney Young (Kary) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Petersburg, VA. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2006, Petersburg, VA 23804. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
