Daniel Patrick Dumouchelle left this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018 to join the Lord in his new eternal life. He was born on June 5, 1939 to Anne Berberich Dumouchelle and Napoleon Wildore Dumouchelle in Petersburg, VA. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Ginny) Planck Dumouchelle; and his daughters Julie Dumouchelle Riles (Rusty) of Matoaca, VA and Teresa Dumouchelle Smithers (Alan) of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Christopher Knowles, Rachael Riles and Patrick Riles; sister, M. Teresa Dumouchelle; brother, Charles M. Dumouchelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan graduated Benedictine High School in Richmond, VA in 1957. After high school he joined the US Airforce where he was deployed to Wiesbaden, Germany before he was discharged in 1961. In 1961 he began his career at Philip Morris USA in Richmond, VA where he worked until retiring in 1993 as the Manager of Travel and Services. Dan was active in church ministries all his adult life. He worked with several church sponsored programs including serving on 17 teams for Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and Engaged Encounter. As an active member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg, VA, he participated on parish counsel, RCIA team for 11 years, and the ALPHA Program. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 1969 and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus of C189 in Richmond, VA. Dan also stayed very active in his community as a member of the HOA and Neighborhood Watch. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, watching the Washington Redskins, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 4 pm -7 pm at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg Chapel, 103 S. Adams St. A Catholic mass will be held in his honor at 11am on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St, Petersburg, VA.
