Daniel Keith Parker

Daniel Keith "Danny" Parker, age 61, of Chesterfield, Va., formerly of Alderson, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Ky., following a sudden illness. Born March 13, 1955 in Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of Julia Anne Kennedy Parker of Alderson, W.Va., and the late Richard Emil Parker, Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Anne Parker; and a niece, Bethany Suzanne Parker. Mr. Parker was a 1974 graduate of Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea, W.Va. He retired from the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2006 and currently was the owner and operator of his own contracting business, Parker Home Improvement Company, in the Richmond, Va. area. He was an avid WVU football fan and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mr. Parker adored his wife, doted on his grandchildren, was especially close to his brothers, and loved all of his family, as well as his many, many friends. He had a constant smile on his face, gave great big bear hugs, and was a kind and generous man, who was always ready to help anyone in need. He will forever rest in his beloved West Virginia and will be greatly missed by us all. Survivors include the love of his life, that he married in 2004, Stephanie Steininger Parker of Chesterfield, Va., a daughter, Andrea Parker of Alderson, W.Va.; a son, Nicholas Parker and his wife, Hope, of Lancaster, Ky.; his mother, Julia Anne Kennedy Parker of Alderson, W.Va.; three brothers, Rick Parker and his wife, Cindy, of Alderson, W.Va., Paul Parker of Alderson, W.Va., and Chester Parker and his fiancée, Valerie Parker, of Alderson, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Matthew, Rocco, Paige, Samuel, and Christian; an aunt, Elizabeth Canterbury of Charleston, W.Va.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Pat Steininger of Hopewell, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va., with the Rev. Dr. Bill Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, W.Va. Friends may call Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va. Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Chester, Va. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Kiddy, Joe Tudor, Matthew Hedrick, Mark Dunbar, Gregory Steininger, Paul Parker, and Chester Parker.
