Daniel Tyler Thrash

Daniel "Dan" Thrash, age 30, of Chester, VA, entered into eternal peace on December 30, 2017. He was born in Huntington, WV, and moved to Virginia at the age of 8. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Leroy "Butch" Thrash; maternal grandmother, Verba Edmonds; paternal grandparents, Betty and Leroy Thrash; and loving aunts, Nancy Marcum and Freda Wolfe. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Karen and James Smith of Chester; sister, Kara Uhrain; nieces, Karissa and Victoria Uhrain; and nephew, Ryan Uhrain, all of Myrtle Beach, SC; special friend and employer, James Battle; and a host of family members and friends. Dan loved people and movies, and he had a great passion for music. He was bright and athletic and excelled at sports and academics in his formative years. He was known to have a good heart and was loyal to those he held close. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11:00 am, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Fiordelise, officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 10:00 am.
