Danny W. Cawthon, Sr.

Danny W. Cawthon, Sr., 72, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on July 23, 2024. He was the son of the late Anna Belle Cawthon and Earnest G. Cawthon and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Earnest G. Cawthon, Jackson L. Cawthon, James R. Cawthon, and Donald Cawthon. He was a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather. Danny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shellie J. Cawthon; children, Stephanie C. Altman (March), Danny W. Cawthon, Jr. (Cindy), William S. Cawthon (Jewel), and Joshua M. Cawthon; grandchildren, Joshua M. Cawthon, Tripp W. Cawthon, Kayla A. Stewart, Codey A. Cawthon, Claudia N. Altman, Jacob B. Cawthon, Gabriella L. Winfield (Thomas), John M. Altman III, Ross D. Altman, and Scarlett K. Altman; six great-great-grandchildren.

Danny was a millwright for majority of his career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being a first responder, also loved feeding and watching the hummingbirds, and feeding the squirrels in his yard. Danny was baptized later in life and became a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, in Colonial Heights, Virginia.

The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. All services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Virginia Donor Registry and Public Awareness Fund.
