Dante Fratarcangelo

Dante Fratarcangelo, 89 of Hopewell, VA passed away, Saturday, April 29, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Domenico and Anna Fratarcangelo. He is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Shirley Hall Fratarcangelo; sons, Timothy Fratarcangelo and wife Alison, David Fratarcangelo and wife Suzanne, Dante Fratarcangelo and wife Rowena; daughter, Elizabeth Fratarcangelo Richardson and husband Robert; four grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Dante was the son of Italian immigrants. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the war he attended East Carolina University. Upon graduation from ECU he returned to Hopewell to build a successful business with his brother Harry Fratarcangelo. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service beginning at 5:00pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church 510 W. Poythress Street, Hopewell, VA 23860. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the church. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
