Darlene Faye Thompson-Edwards

Darlene Faye Thompson-Edwards, 59, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Darlene was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 15, 1962. She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Gene and Mary Lou Dingess Thompson and the other pea to her pod, her beloved brother Ronnie Thompson. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Michael Edwards; daughters, Shayna Thompson and LeighAnna Finberg (Matt); step-daughters, Heather, Rebecca and Sarah; Grandchildren, Gracie and Payton Thompson; sisters, Kathi Hall and Tamy Riggleman (Bill), mother-in-law Evelyn Edwards; nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Larry, Ben, Kim, Kelly, Karen, Mike and Sarah; great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Katlin, Dayton, Billy, Collin, Caden, Maddox, Grayson and Isabella; great-great niece Ashlynn and many special close friends. Darlene was a giver, she enjoyed making others happy. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and serving the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 637. The family wishes to thank the staff of Crater Community Hospice and all the family and friends that provided love and care to Darlene. Family will receive friends Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral home. The memorial service will begin at 2 pm. A celebration of life will take place at 3 pm at the Hopewell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 637, located at 1400 Lynchburg St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice.
