Darrell Eugene Raymond Sr.

Darrell Eugene Raymond Sr., 69, of N. Prince George VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Born in Elkhart IN, he was the son of the late Wilford Reed and Leona LaMunyon Raymond. He was also preceded in death by a wife, Hatsuko Raymond; son, Darrell Edward Raymond; sister, Ethel; and his brother, Eb. Mr. Raymond retired from the U.S. Army as SFC, with over 22 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Mr. Raymond was saved on January 2, 1983 and was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Nancy C. Raymond; children, Daniel Eugene Raymond and his wife, Christine, Darrell Eugene Raymond, Jr. and his wife, Delana, Jennifer L. Swan and her husband, Jonathan and Christopher J. Landis; grandchildren, Erica, Dominic, Jakob, Alexander, Seth, James, Daniel, Andrew, Genevieve, and Alexander; sisters, Marie Price and husband, Bill, and Lorene Miller; brothers, Robert Raymond and Lawrence Richey. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, 23814 River Rd, N. Dinwiddie 23803. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Raleigh Nunnally, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church in memory of Darrell.
