David Eugene Allen

David Eugene Allen, 53, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late Jack Belvin Allen, Sr. and Frances Ann Allen; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Belvin Allen, Jr. David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shawn Allen; his daughter, Brittney Ann Taggart and husband, Sean; one granddaughter, Skyler Ann Taggart; three brothers, Dennis Allen and wife, Amee, James Allen and wife, Denise, and Paul Allen and wife, Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Readville Baptist Church Cemetery in Sussex, VA.
