David Finley

MSG David Finley (RET), 80 of Hopewell, died on Friday April 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Taylor Jones; his stepfather, Fred Jones; and his sister Margerite Miller. David served his country proudly in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany for over 20 years, and retired from the Army after 28 years of service. He was an avid lover of Purple Martins and fishing. David is survived by is loving wife of 50 plus years, Elfriede “Frieda” Finley; children, Peter Finley, Peggy Aarlien and her husband, Michael Jourdain, Patrick Finley; grandchildren, Ana, Andre, Nathan, Christopher; niece, Martha Longino, and her children, David and Kelvin Miller; nieces, Bobbi Jean Hunter, Josephine Miller Murphy; nephew, Joe Parker; and several other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
