David Scott Flowers, son of Stuart K. Short and the late John A. Flowers, was born on August 6, 1970 and died on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from complications related to liver disease. He is also survived by his daughter, Brooke McKensie Flowers; his sister, Jennifer Flowers Honn and her husband, Steve, and their sons, Damon and Drew; his dear friend, Wendy Petrie Bracciodieta and her daughters, Megan and Anna; his step-father, Dabney E. Short, Jr. and sons, Dabney E. Short, III and Gregory B. Short. David continued to talk about his Papa and Ganga (Harry and Judy King) and shared many stories of adventures with them and his cousins, Kimberly Taylor Harrison (CJ and their children), John Taylor (Kristen Knight) and Chip Brown (Amy and their children), and of course Jenni. David was much loved by his Aunt Anne (Pie) and Jimmy Taylor and Aunt Linda (Lulu) and JB Brown. David graduated from Thomas Dale High School where he ran cross country and was a “Baguba” under Coach Bob Horning. He graduated from Richard Bland College and attended St. Leo University. He was an electrical apprentice and became a Journeyman Electrician. David was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church in South Chesterfield. He believed in God and the promise of salvation. 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” and 4:22, “The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
