David Carnell Hughes

David Carnell Hughes, 73, of Prince George, Virginia, passed away on June 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Lockard Hughes Jr.; and his brothers, Ashley Hughes and Clark Hughes. David served honorably in the United States Army, retiring after 21 years of service. He served in the 82nd Airborne and was spent time as a jumpmaster. David enjoyed painting and art and particularly loved working in his yard. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. David is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Kathy Hughes; mother, Libby Hughes; children, Heather Hughes (James Hoover), Matthew Hughes, and David Hughes Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany Via (Josh), Kirsten Basham, and Areanna Hoover; great-grandchildren, River Gatz and Cohen Via; nephews, Brandon Hughes and Nicolas Hughes; and uncles, Benny Hughes and Raymond Hughes.
