David Melvin Jacobson

David Melvin Jacobson, 87, of South Chesterfield, Virginia entered into rest on March 13, 2022 at home, surround by the love of his family. Dave was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. David was born on October 21, 1934 in Wakefield, Michigan to the late Chester Jacobson and Gladys (Cormier) Jacobson. Dave had a good sense of humor and loved to talk about politics and history. He enjoyed watching war and action movies, and playing poker, trivia and chess. He also enjoyed music, particularly Dixieland Jazz and Louis Armstrong. He worked as a civilian for the Army, culminating in his retirement as the Training and Audiovisual Support Officer at Fort Eustis, Virginia with over 41 years of service. He also worked at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia and The Villages Entertainment Department television station after his retirement and relocation to Florida. While living in Florida he learned to play golf and enjoyed his poker nights with friends. Dave is survived by his daughters, Kathy Martin and her husband, John, and Debbie Lewis and her husband, Dan; and three grandchildren, Zack, Katie, and Corinne, all of Virginia. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn (Jacobson) Johnsen of Littleton, Colorado. Dave was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances (MacKendree) Jacobson; his parents; and his brother, Robert Jacobson of Tiffin, Ohio. There will be no public services held at this time.
