David Joel Levenson passed away on October 16, 2012. He was born on January 2, 1930 in Petersburg, Virginia to Louis and Ida Levenson. He graduated from Petersburg High School and attended the University of Virginia. He was a Corporal in The United States Army. After a brief employment at a men’s store in Richmond, he came to work in the family business “Levenson and Son”, a clothing store in Petersburg, VA. Upon his father’s death in 1976, he took over the business and established it as a fine men’s clothing store. In 1991 he sold the business and went to work for J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, his true passion. His parents precede him in death. He is survived by his four children, Trudy Levenson of San Diego, CA, Gary Levenson and his wife Karen of Lexington and Chester, VA, Jeff Levenson and his wife Debby of Richmond, VA and Mindy Fakhoury and her husband Elias of Clifton, VA as well as five grandchildren Claire, Max, Emme, Ethan and Dylan. He leaves behind a host of other relatives and close friends in the Petersburg and Colonial Heights areas. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 18th at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Friday, October 19th at Brith Achim Cemetery.
